Human trafficking
The plantation sector in Upcountry Sri Lanka is an area of great concern regarding human
trafficking. To address this issue, HEART NGO has decided to take on a project briefing under
the plantation sector. The project aims to work with Samadana/M, an organization that mitigates
human trafficking in the region. Through this project, the NGO hopes to create awareness about
the issue and assist people who have been victims of such exploitation. This project includes
involving working closely with local government and other stakeholders to bring about positive
change and ensure that these issues are addressed effectively. The project will also involve
working with local communities and stakeholders to ensure that everyone is aware of the risks
associated with human trafficking, and that there are measures in place to prevent it from
happening. Through this initiative, we hope to create a safe environment for everyone involved
in the plantation sector.
